Building for Hope guides congregations through a two-year cohort journey of repurposing their underutilized facilities and other physical assets to advance each congregation’s mission and connection to their community.
Congregations accepted into the Building for Hope program receive all training and support at no cost to them.

It begins meeting in the fall of 2026.
The Program:
- Three in-person gatherings with a cohort of congregations on similar journeys in their unique contexts.
- Case study congregations that have already undergone this process, and how they’ve reimagined and reorganized their facility for community good and congregational flourishing.
- Site visits to experience congregational facility renewal firsthand.
- A curriculum from Rooted Good, an organization focused on helping churches reimagine their assets to impact local communities and glorify God.
- An assigned coach to walk alongside your congregation in the development and implementation of your plans for your facility.
- A faculty of practitioners, pastors, and subject matter experts coming together to equip congregations to creatively utilize their facilities for good in their specific settings.
Aside from travel to and from gatherings, all costs of the program are covered for congregations accepted into the two-year program, thanks to funding from Lilly Endowment Inc.
